Kevin and Margaret Hluch

 

Kevin Hluch (ceramic artist and sculpture) and Margaret Hluch (textile and encaustic artist) founded HluchArts in 2010 in Frederick, Maryland. Both have been practicing their craft for almost 40 years. They have been exhibited in numerous shows and galleries throughout the United States and the world.

Kevin has an MFA in ceramics and sculpture from Kent State University and is Professor of Art teaching ceramics at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland.

Kevin received two Fulbright-Hayes Visiting Lectureships. He was Visiting Fulbright-Hayes Lecturer in Ceramics and Art History at Kenyatta University near Nairobi, Kenya for two years and taught Ceramics and Drawing at Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan for one year.

Margaret received her MA in textiles from St. Cloud State University and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Art at Frederick Community College. Margaret was a Visiting Lecturer at Duksung University in Seoul, Korea for one semester where she taught design and weaving.  She has also taught textile design and weaving at the Maryland Institute College of Art and Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland. 

Their travels to many countries including Costa Rica, Egypt, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, India, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Syria, Turkey, Australia, Scotland, and South Korea have over the years greatly influenced their work.
